High-Riding Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato Spied Ready For Off-Road Fun

It may debut in the second half of this year.

In 2019, Lamborghini presented the Huracan Sterrato Concept. Rumours immediately started to circulate that it would ever go into production. A new batch of spy photos from three years later shows that Lamborghini continues to create such a model.

Although the photos aren’t as wintery as previous ones, they show a familiar, high-riding Huracan. Lamborghini hasn’t tried to conceal the supercar’s 20-inch wheels by using camouflage, as it sits so high. The car was seen in spy photos with a front brush guard. However, this vehicle is missing that. The tires with wider sidewalls are not missing.

The Evo’s special Sterrato variant will include all-wheel drive and other offroad-oriented upgrades like a recalibrated transmission. Although the two cars look very similar, the Sterrato may get some design tweaks before it is officially launched. The rear of the supercar is different, as Lamborghini added a hood scoop to the engine cover louvers.

Although we don’t know the engine that the Sterrato will use, it is safe to assume that Lamborghini will be using its naturally aspirated V10 for this Huracan model. Increased ride height will provide additional protection underbody, skid plates and mudguards, reinforced sides skirts, and protection for the engine bay as well as air intakes and engine bay.

Although the Sterrato is the production version of the concept, there are significant differences. The concept had a set of tacked-on fender flares, which sat above a wideened stance. These features are not present on the test car. It does not appear to be the final design. We will have to wait until the reveal.

Lamborghini enthusiasts shouldn’t be surprised if this surpasses the Urus any time soon. An earlier rumor claimed that 1,000 examples would be produced by the company. Lamborghini has not yet announced the debut date for its supercar. Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of the company, suggested that could be unveiled sometime in 2022. This is one of the four models that the company intends to launch this year. We are still waiting for the invite
