These cars have an armored undercarriage and reinforced armour plating. They also feature multi-layer laminated glasses windows.
BMW has officially revealed their new 7-Series High Security models.
The new High Security sedans were designed for politicians and the elite of the world. They are the first cars to receive BRV 2009 certification. They are also equipped with a VR7 ballistic protection rating, which gives them resistance to most assault weapons.
BMW provides cars with reinforced armour plating and chassis reinforcements to ensure they are protected against all types of attack. Other modifications include an armoured sub-carrier, gap sealing (to stop bullets/shrapnel entering the cabin), as well as multi-layer laminated windows.
An intercom system, an attack alarm, a fire extinguishing and an internal air supply system are all available to the car. If a gas attack is detected, they automatically activate. High security models can be equipped with an integrated LED flashing light, an acoustic system, and security radios.
The new High Security models can be ordered with either a 300 kW (407 HP) 4.4-liter twin-turbo engine V8 or a 400kW (544 HP) 6.0-liter turbo V12. The 750Li High Security can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds while the 760Li is able to do the same in 6.2 seconds.
