Holden, following last week’s teaser has revealed the last Australian-built Commodore. It’s the most powerful and fastest ever built.
All models have been given styling tweaks to their front and rear, except for the Evoke trim, which is unchanged, while the LPG version has been discontinued. All models get new front and rear bumpers as well as clear taillights and 18-inch rims. The Sportwagon gets new LED taillights.
The Evoke continues to be powered by the six-cylinder 3.0-liter V6 rated as 252 PS (185 kW), 290 Nm (214 lbft), while the SV6 version features a six-cylinder 3.6 liter V6 rated with 286 PS (258 kW) & 350 Nm (258 lbft) respectively, just like the Calais V and Calais V models.
The SS version will cost you an additional $1,500. However, you’ll get a more powerful LS3 V8 6.2 liter engine with 413 PS (304 kW), and 570 Nm (421 lb.ft). The vehicle can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. Standard equipment includes a six speed manual gearbox. However, for $2,200 more, a six speed automatic is available. This model only comes with the Sportswagon engine.
Holden claims that the new engine is paired with a tuned suspension, which improves handling and comfort. All V8-powered models get a mechanical bimodal exhaust and optional performance brakes. The SSV has functional hood vents and a color heads-up display.
The range-topping SSV Redline now has standard rear Brembo brakes and all the other goodies of the SSV, plus new 20-inch wheels.
