We have great respect for her efforts and she is doing it all by herself.
This is a great celebrity car story. We hope you will stick with us. It’s common to see actors, sports stars and music moguls driving around in fancy cars. But, it often seems pathetically fake. Although flashy cars are a part of the celebrity lifestyle, do they really love them for their mechanical marvels? Sydney Sweeney is your guide. The actress, aged 23, already has dozens upon a list of television and film credits. She is a true car-crazy, and she doesn’t just drive them. She works on them.
Sweeney posted a few days ago that she was working on her dream car on Instagram. We were then directed to her TikTok page, appropriately named Syds_Garage. There she has posted many videos of her progress on a 1969 Ford Bronco. We have a video from February 19, that shows her driving the red Bronco. It’s not clear when she bought the vintage off-roader, but we are treated to several clips showing the restoration work she is doing. Although the Bronco looks good, its undercarriage is quite worn. She’s currently replacing suspension components and treating rust. Short clips reveal that she is doing a transmission swap in order to make the Bronco more street-worthy. This makes sense since it was originally equipped with a three-on-the tree manual transmission. We see her working on engine and frame. These achievements are not common for “hardcore” car enthusiasts.
Sweeney explains that she has always wanted to repair cars and this video is the clincher. She says that her inspiration came from renting a Bronco classic for her 22nd Birthday. This led to Sweney buying the Bronco and literally tearing into it with both her hands. It’s not uncommon for celebrities to talk about their passion for cars. Sweeney is living the talk. With the car scene so male-dominated and filled with toxic masculinity it’s refreshing to see a young Hollywood woman go full-on car crazy with an unbuilt project.
After the Bronco is finished, Syd will likely find a classic Mustang waiting for some upgrades. We are eager to see what the future holds.
