Honda introduced the HR-V with a turbocharged engine in Indonesia. This is the third-generation HRV to receive the force-inducted powerplant.
The HR-V can be found in four trims in the Southeast Asian country. Only the RS model gets the turbo 1.5-liter gasoline engine, which produces 175 horsepower (130 kilowatts), and 177 poundfeet (220 Newton-meters) respectively.
The RS-spec HR-V from Indonesia is now the most powerful third-generation model with an internal combustion engine. Both the more powerful versions of the are electric , but they can only be sold in China.
The RS designation is given to the Indonesian HRV, which signifies that it is different from other HR-Vs around the world. However, it looks very similar to the RS e.HEV sold in Thailand. The Indo-spec HRV is sporty and highlighted by the various body options that come with the RS badge. The pure ICE HRV-V has two exhaust pipes, compared to the Thai model.
The Philippines will soon be the next country to receive the turbocharged Honda HR-V. This will take place on April 19, 2022. All 2022 HRV models in the Philippines will be equipped with the Honda Sensing suite safety features, just like in Indonesia.
The third-generation HR-V, which is also known as the Vezel, is only available in Europe as a hybrid model. The Japanese HR-V is also known as the Vezel. It comes in both the pure ICE and hybrid models. However, the 1.5-liter gasoline engine with naturally aspirated 1.5-liters is reserved for its base model.
The US HR-V will use a unique styling that is different from the rest of world. This is “designed to meet the specific needs of U.S. customers.”
American Honda announced that the HR-V would be arriving on April 4, 2022. It is not yet clear if Honda will offer the American HRV with either a turbocharged or hybrid engine.
