It is faster and larger than the HondaJet’s existing models, and can fly higher.
The HondaJet 2600 Concept is a longer-range version the automaker’s business aircraft. It’s capable to fly non-stop from coast-to-coast across the United States. There are jets capable of covering these distances already, but this one is smaller, more efficient and likely cheaper. This would allow the possibility to be offered to a new set of customers.
The 2600 shares are a lot more than the standard HondaJet. This one is even faster and bigger. You can see
The 2600 Concept’s engine specifications were not provided by the company. Honda claims that this jet will fly faster and higher than any other light jets, and would be 20 percent more fuel efficient than those of lighter jets. It also promises a 40 percent greater fuel efficiency than mid-sized jets.
Honda will be displaying the 2600 Concept in three layouts. There are four total passenger chairs in the Dual Club. Two pairs face forward and two pairs face backwards. Two of these seats were removed by the Executive to make it easier for people to spread out. The Divan includes four regular seats as well as a large sofa.
Depending on the layout, a customer can specify either a version that accommodates a pilot and 10 passengers, or two crewmembers with 9 occupants.
Honda claims that the 2600 will be capable of single-pilot operation. As a way of reducing pilot workload, this would include advanced automation such as autothrottle and automaticbrake.
A mockup of the HondaJet 2600 Concept was displayed at the NBAA Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition, Las Vegas. It was displayed to gather customer feedback and validate market demands.
