The 2017 concept will undergo some changes.
We will see the rise of a new trend in the next few years: the neo retro electric car. The I.D. is a Volkswagen trademark. Honda began clearing the path with the Urban Electric Vehicle, just like Peugeot with its eLegend concept. This adorable city car was first presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2017 as a concept. It will be available on the European market within a few months.
Honda has yet to present the final model, and generally doesn’t provide much information. Our illustrator will give us an initial idea of what the Japanese brand has in store.
Although the overall design is well preserved, many elements were retouched. Our Urban EV has four doors that open in a more traditional way and have flush handles. The side cameras are replaced by traditional mirrors. It has more conventional wheels and a shield with a lower grid. It is also content with a front logo made of metal (and not brighter) and has no load indicators on the sidewalls. They still have the two round headlights on the front and the bulge at the hood.
The Urban EV is still crisp, however. Honda promises to launch the Urban EV in 2019. We’ll soon find out if we were right.
