CivicX has managed to get a picture of Honda’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. We discussed the Civic Si which will be available for 2017MY. It features a new engine. The attached image shows this unit, which will most likely have an electric wastegate actuator as well as a built in blow-off valve.
The Civic Si will come with a detuned version, which will produce around 230 horsepower. It will only be available with a six speed manual transmission. Honda will use the same engine to power the Type R, which will have more power. The Civic Si will be available in the late fall 2016-early spring 2017, but the Civic Type R will arrive on the market in spring or summer 2017. Honda is expected to sell the Type R in most markets, indicating that it will be available for purchase. Honda will first sell the tenth generation Civic Sedan, and Coupe in America with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 158 horsepower and 135 lb-ft of torque. The new turbocharged 1.5 liter engine with 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft is a more attractive choice. The UK-developed Civic five door hatchback will be available in Europe in early 2017. It will feature a turbo three-cylinder, 1.0-liter engine with around 127 horsepower and 148 lb.ft.
