This makes it easier and faster to do the little crossover.
Ford’s CEO Jim Farley made strong statements about the possibility of a sale of the Puma ST to the United States. Although his tweet is only a tweet, it’s clear that he hopes something will happen. European customers now have another option to pick from for their Puma.
Ford of Europe just released a seven-speed dual clutch automatic.
PumaThe mechanically-related Fiesta The small crossover The two-pedal option with the gearbox was first offered in May 2013. It is now available for the mild-hybrid, 1.0-liter powertrain.
The engine is based upon the 1.0 EcoBoost, but it uses an integrated belt driven starter-generator (BISG) to recover energy lost during braking. The powertrain is powered by a 48-volt lithiumion battery pack that sends energy to BISG when it acts like a motor.
Ford claims that the new seven speed dual-clutch auto provides four percent faster acceleration in the 125-hp Puma EcoBoost Hybrid. This is compared to the nonhybrid model. The trim level determines whether the crossover has paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel for manual gear changes.
Ford claims the dual-clutch transmission will deliver “seamless acceleration and smooth gear changes.”
Two new features are also available with the new transmissions for the Puma EcoBoost Hybrid or Fiesta EcoBoost Hybrid. Both small cars can now be equipped with AT and have stop-and go functionality. The adaptive cruise control can automatically pull the car away from stop-start traffic. FordPass’ mobile app now allows remote start.
