The VelosterRaptor N Concept, and Kona Ultimate Concept offer mild and wild enhancements.
The 2019 SEMA show is almost here and everyone seems to want to be there. Hyundai has just revealed a few interesting concepts it will present at the aftermarket automobile gala. These include a mildly modified Veloster, which the automaker claims is a Type R killer, and a slightly modified Kona that looks nothing like the soft-roader you’ve grown to love.

Let’s start with the Veloster. The VelosterRaptor N Concept was created by Hyundai and Bisimoto Engineering. It’s a clever wordplay. But, thanks to a number of bolt-on performance improvements, it actually has some bite. A modified turbocharger, high-flow exhaust and water methanol kits, an enhanced intercooler, as well as a high performance intake, modified mass airflow meters, and a performance tune, all add to the engine’s benefits. The engine’s combined power output is greater than 320 horsepower (239kilowatts). A lowered suspension with aftermarket wheels, sticky tires and aftermarket wheels maximizes the power.
The VelosterRaptor N is visually unchanged. Except for the wheels mentioned above, there are custom headlights and a larger rear spoiler. The only modifications inside are lightweight seats and an interactive OBD cluster. Hyundai claims this car was designed to show a consumer-friendly bolt-on upgrade for Veloster. We’ll be honest, it looks very clean.
The lifted Kona was created in collaboration with Rockstar Performance Garage. Although this isn’t as user-friendly as the VelosterRaptor it gives the compact crossover an overhaul like a rally. The vehicle rides on off-road tires of 30-inch and has a complete suspension upgrade. It also gets stronger brakes. Although Hyundai does not mention an increase in power, the engine receives an intake and exhaust upgrade. The LED rally lights and Bulletlinter-coated black body will certainly increase badassery.
The 2019 SEMA Show starts Tuesday, November 5, in Las Vegas.
