Hyundai has released the i30 facelift after a series spy shots. It will also be available in a Turbo version.
The Turbo version will be available in three-door coupe or five-door hatchback body styles. The Turbo version is Hyundai’s version the Kia cee’d GT / procee’d GT. However, it has less power than the Kias’ 204 HP (150kW) and 265Nm (195lb-ft), whereas the Hyundais have 186 HP (135 kW) with the same torque. The engine is a four-cylinder, turbocharged gasoline engine of 1.6-liter capacity. It’s only available with a six speed manual gearbox.
The Hyundai i30 Turbo’s acceleration to 62 mph (100 km/h in 8 seconds) is 0.3 faster than the Kia equivalent. Top speed is 136 mph (219km/h), which is 7 mph (11 km/h) slower).
The i30 Turbo has a powerful engine and a retuned suspension that allows for better handling. Additionally, the steering has been adjusted to match the 18 inch wheels. The front discs are ventilated with 300mm of stopping power and the 284mm solid discs are solid. The more aggressive body kit includes beefier bumpers, side skirts, LED DRLs and bi-xenon headlights with LED DRLs. At the back is a dual exhaust system.
A few improvements have been made to the interior cabin, including sports front seats and black headlining.
The more basic i30 facelift comes with cosmetic tweaks like a revamped hexagonal grille, new wheels, and fresh paints: Jet Black (Orange Caramel) and Polar White.
Regular i30 will be offered with a 1.6-liter turbodiesel offering 110 HP and 280 Nm, or 136 HP and 280 Nm. These torque figures apply to the standard six-speed manual version of the car, while the seven speed auto version increases torque to 300 Nm. There are two gasoline engines with naturally aspirated gas: a 1.4-liter base engine with 100 HP and 134 Nm, and a larger 1.6 liter with 120 HP and 156 Nm.
In the first months 2015, the Hyundai i30 lineup will be on sale (including the Turbo version).
