This warm-over hatchback shares some sporty cues and features with its N-powered sibling.
Hyundai plans to offer a range N-Line products that are warmed up. We’ve already seen an camouflaged N-Line i30 hatchback. It was finished with a light performance treatment. But, new spy photos have shown the handsome hatchback fully exposed testing at the Nurburgring.
The i30 N-Line, like its hardcore sibling adopts a variety of sporty design cues. With a bigger lower grille, and a red accent detail at the diffuser, the front fascia looks more aggressive. The accent grilles also have LED running lights embedded in them. This gives the vehicle a more elegant look. The i30 N-Line appears to have unique wheels, which is a big advantage over the standard model.
A few of the same design elements are still visible at the back. The bumper has been sculpted more, and the diffuser is larger with red accents. You can still find the same dual exhaust tips as on the prototype.
The N-Line trim may not produce the same horsepower as the N model, but it will still put out 275 horsepower (205 Kilowatts) or 260 pound-feet (352 Newton-meters) of torque. The standard i30 produces either 118 hp (87.2 kW) or 138 hp (102.2 kW), but the i30N-Line should produce closer to 200 hp (14.9 kW) depending on which trim.
The i30 N Line will not be available in the United States, but European buyers can expect the hatchback within a few months. The full-on N version, which is already in stock in the region, costs EUR39.995 (approximately $46,375). When it goes on sale, the N-Line will be undoubtedly less expensive.
The VelosterN will be the Veloster’s successor. The hatchback will be available later in the year and produces the same 275 horsepower as the i30N.
