Although camouflage conceals most of its styling, the extra padding at the rear suggests that it will have a sloped roofline.

Hyundai presented their upcoming MPV / Crossover at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show in the HED-5 iMode Concept. Although it took a while to get from concept to production to this point, we now have the first images of an ix30 prototype that was captured during testing.

The internal codename is “SO” and, although it’s hard to seefrom a distance, we can see three rows of seats that seat 6 people. Although camouflage conceals most of its styling, the extra padding at the rear suggests that it will have a sloped roofline similar to the concept.

Although it is not confirmed, the new Hyundai ix30 could be badge-engineered to replace the Kia Rondo.

The new ix30 will compete against the Ford C-Max, Mazda5 and Mazda5 in the MPV / Crossover market.
