We thought this 3-row could not get better.
Two of the most expensive three-row crossovers are the Hyundai Palisade, and its Kia Telluride sibling. They look great, drive well and have premium cabins that could be mistaken for luxury cars. The already luxurious Palisade is now even more lavish in Hyundai’s Korean home market, thanks to two new trims, VIP and Calligraphy.
The VIP and Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy models receive a few new visual cues that make the crossover appear more elegant. These models are distinguished from their base sibling by triangular grille inserts and a full-width chrome skip plate. A larger lower intake, a wider rear diffuser and a wider rear air intake make these models stand out. The trim also features a new Rain Forest paint job.
The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with optional head-up display on lower trims and Nappa leather available in three colors (Black, Khaki, and Beige) are all standard features. The VIP and Calligraphy models offer seven-seat configurations, while the VIP models have a second row bench that can be replaced by leather-appointed captain’s seats. Larger families might need to consider other options.
The Palisade VIP is a Calligraphy model with steroids. The standard Nappa leather and visual cues of the Calligraphy model are still present. However, the Palisade VIP has a second row center console with an Air Purifier, warmed cup holders, warmed and chilled cup holders, a more comfortable Headrest with built-in speakers and a wireless charger.
This extra opulence comes with a price. The Palisade calligraphy is available at W47,100,000. In Korea, this would be equivalent to $39,000 in the U.S. W50,950,000 is the price of a fully-loaded diesel model with all wheel drive. Hyundai Palisade VIP models are even more expensive. The base FWD model with V6 costs W52 800,000 ($43,000), while the top-of-the-line diesel model with AWD costs W56 650,000 ($46,100).

You might have noticed that both Palisade Calligraphy models and VIP models share the same 3.8-liter V6 engine. It produces 291 horsepower (216 Kilowatts) as well as 262 poundfeet (355 Newton-meters), and is paired with the same eight-speed auto. Korean buyers have the option to purchase a 2.2-liter four cylinder diesel engine. This is comparable to the American Palisade and produces 200 hp (150kW) as well as 322 lbft (437Nm). There is no word yet on whether these interior or visual upgrades will be available in the U.S.
