Hyundai is expanding their product line.
We reported earlier this season that the Hyundai Sonata would get a little more performance with the N-Line model. It has been confirmed by Hyundai, and a source said that it would be coming “soon”. Although the photo isn’t exactly what it will look like, it’s just an render version of the N version. However, we hope that it exhibits the same aggression and style. Hyundai’s N and N-Line models are a hot topic lately, so those who think the Sonata is too conservative may want to pay attention.
CNET has been contacted by Hyundai to confirm that the Sonata N-Line is imminent. The source said that the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine will produce a healthy 275 horsepower. The transmission is still in flux, although Hyundai does have its eight-speed dual clutch gearboxes available for pure N models. Hyundai also stated that nine additional N-Line models would be released in 2020 and 2021 and that three more N models are on the horizon. Rumours suggest that the Sonata N is one of these N models. It will offer a higher level of performance than the N-Line.
Two other N models have been confirmed as an SUV and a hatchback. The Kona, Elantra and Elantra are candidates to become more practical and performance-oriented versions of their practical counterparts. We’ll have to wait and watch next year as the Chicago Auto Show will be the best place to learn more.
