N-y takers?
Hyundai will bring a hotter VelosterN high performance hatchback to the 2019 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas. The hot-hatch is called the Veloster N Performance Concept. It features a variety of bolt-on parts to demonstrate what the aftermarket can do to Hyundai’s high-powered model.
KWA has added a variety of exterior enhancements to the vehicle, including an aggressive rear wings, custom hood and orange accents on the front and rear fascias as well as the hood, side sills and exterior mirror covers. The interior features a generous use of Alcantara-like suede, Sabelt seating, an aluminum shift knob and a red button to start and stop the engine.
The only powertrain enhancement is a Capriso Cat-back Exhaust system. The Veloster N Performance Concept makes likely the same 275 horsepower from the turbocharged 2.0-liter Inline-four as the production Veloster N.
The Performance Concept, on the other hand, focuses on the Veloster N’s lateral and brake capabilities. Extreme Racing coil-over suspension uses H&R coilsprings, front and back anti-roll bars from Daewon Steel, extra chassis bracing from WIF, and 19-inch OZ wheels covered in Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires. The concept also includes Alcon six-piston front rotors and four-piston back rotors that clamp on to 15.0-inch front rotors and 14.2-inch rear. These discs are notable at 1.4 and 1.8% larger than the Veloster N production-spec discs with the Performance package.
The Veloster N Performance Concept will likely remain a SEMA Showcar, but its extra kit shows what dynamic changes can be made for Hyundai’s most popular hatch. The Veloster N Performance Concept, while already a great car, is even more fun to drive.
