The cabin has modern amenities, but they are well hidden.

Icon 4×4 has a wide range of Ford Bronco, Toyota Land Cruiser restomods. For those who want something more traditional, the Thriftmaster pickup is available. The company calls this the New School Edition, which adds modern amenities to the classic pickup without losing its original look.

The 1952 Chevrolet Thriftmaster 3100 is the base of this truck. The truck is unique, but there are many neat touches. The walnut wood used to cover the bed is a Japanese technique Shu Sugi Ban, which preserves lumber by charring its outside.

Porsche’s Chalk White is used for the body. The color pops with black chrome trim. The truck is mounted on 18-inch forged wheels and has visible Brembo brakes behind it.

The truck is completely remodeled beneath its skin. The truck rides on a custom-built frame that features four-wheel independent suspension and adjustable coilovers. The Chevy Performance E-Rod V8 crate engine produces 440 horsepower (583 Newton-meters), and 430 lb-ft (583 kilowatts). This powerplant can be connected to a six speed manual. To add strength to the drivetrain, the Dana 60 nodular third-member is located at the rear.

Jonathan Ward, founder of Icon 4×4, said that his favorite part about the first New School truck is its ability to keep up with modern-day sports cars through canyons.

There’s also more black chrome inside, on the knobs as well as the bolts. The micro-sanded top quality leather upholstery is stunning. The steering wheel is also covered by this material.

You won’t find the modern amenities unless you are looking for them. A dashboard panel that is articulating and one-piece hides the Pioneer 8600NEX sound system screen. The dashboard and seats have LED lighting. Reverse cameras make backing up easier.
