Incredible Mid-Engine Corvair Corvair V8 renderings must become a reality

It is possible. We have the technology.

It’s a great idea to create mid-engined masterpieces out of existing front-engined cars if you are a skilled designer and have a passion for automotive art. This stunning Chevrolet Corvair rendering by Abimele Design shows that, but there is one important difference. The engine of the classic Corvair was not in the front. It was instead at the back, as in the very back.

The Corvair was built from 1960 to 1969. Today, the Corvair enjoys a dedicated following that loves its elegant styling and dynamic rear-engine handling. One complaint that enthusiasts have had is the lack of power from the flat-six engine. However, the Corvair is now a well-known car. A 6.2-liter LT2V8 from the C8 Corvette is mounted in front of the six-cylinder.

Unfortunately, the digital transformation makes the Corvair a four-seater and makes it a two-seater. But, there is no doubt that this second-generation model looks absolutely amazing. Abimele Design’s renderings are extraordinary, as is their usual. It is possible to view the car from several perspectives. This includes a stunning cutaway rendering that shows how the engine fits inside the car, from the transaxle to the exhaust to the carbon fibre air intakes in the quarter glass. It looks just like a real car and we want to drive it.

The V8’s 490-horsepower (365 kilowatts) would be a significant upgrade to the 140-hp (104 kW) flat-six. Moving the engine forward would allow the Corvair to have a better weight distribution. Although the package will add weight, such a powerful infusion of power should compensate. You don’t have to believe that such a swap is impossible. There have been several Corvair V8 swaps in the past few years that used a similar design.

This leaves us with just one question. Is there anyone who is going to rise to the challenge and bring Corv8 to life.
