Indiana Family Saves Sinking Boat With Wrangler and Raptor

These vehicles can be rugged, but you shouldn’t drive them in a lake.

The boat is sinking very close to the dock. How do you respond when your boat is sinking? You might answer, “Drive a Jeep Wrangler or Ford F-150 Raptor into a lake to save the watercraft.” This is what you should be doing, just like the Cedar Lake family. The video and photos show that things don’t turn out as planned.

The video below shows the F-150/Wrangler in the water. A woman is telling the story. The Jeep is further out in the lake, but it’s not moving anywhere. It appears that the Ford is floating, but it could be sinking. People seem to be pushing the pickup in an attempt to get the wheels traction. The boat is sinking slowly.

The Raptor disappears from the video. The boat is sinking and the Wrangler accelerates towards the sinking vessel. The driver must back up because the depth is too great.

The boat is said to be a Pavati wakeboat with a market value of more than $300,000. A Facebook commenter claimed that the watercraft is only two weeks old. According to the owner, the Wrangler was used in the lake prior to installing his dock. So, putting the boat in the water is not as unusual as the video shows.
