Infiniti will unveil its first diesel engine, the Infiniti EX and Infiniti FX. These models will be available on European markets.
The 3.0-liter turbocharged commonrail engine, also known as the V9X produces 235 horsepower (175 kW/ 238 PS) along with 550 Nm (406 Lb-ft) torque. Infiniti EX30d can reach 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds thanks to the aluminum six-cylinder unit. In 8.3 seconds, the FX30d can sprint to 100 km/h.
Infiniti claims that the SUV’s torque-heavy engine is very helpful in overtaking situations.
The diesel EX consumes 8.4 liters per 100 km and gets approximately 34.6 mpg imp. For 31.4 mpg imp, the FX consumes 9.0 liters of fuel. The EX30d and FX30d CO2 emissions have a rating of 224 and 240 grams respectively per kilometer. The NOx emissions weren’t disclosed.
The Infiniti M30d is available as soon as the M-Line is released in late 2012. Soon, the diesel versions of EX and FX will be available.
