Two-hundred-and-thirty-thousand dollars will get you a lot of SUV for the money. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and supercharged Range Rover SV Autobiography are some of the most expensive SUVs currently on the market. This International Scout restomod is an alternative to the super-SUVs currently on the market.

This bright orange SUV is the work of Velocity Restorations. It’s beautiful. Scout’s fully restored and restomodded features include a brand new V8 engine, an enormous lift, and custom painted graphics.

The most attractive upgrade is the 6.2-liter LS3 v8. The engine produces 430 horsepower and 320 kilowatts, and is paired with a 4L70E automatic transmission. Although it doesn’t have as much power as the Cayenne Turbo S (570 horsepower), the Scout has off-road upgrades that are not available to the Porsche.

This Scout is equipped with a six-inch suspension lift, massive Nitto Trail Grappler 35×12.50R17 wheels, and a huge Nitto Trail Grappler T 35×12.50R17 tire. Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes equipped with hydroboost and a custom 3-inch dual exhaust give it an aggressive sound.

The cabin isn’t being sacrificed by the shop, however. The old-school SUV has been given a modern update with a custom dash and Dakota Digital Gauges. Bluetooth connectivity also gives it a modern look. The seats are covered in black leather with orange accent stitching. The dash is finished with a custom-made black vinyl. Also, a four-point rollbar and chassis with powder coating have been installed.

Velocity promises, “You’ve never witnessed an International Scout as this.” We took the Classic International Scout to a new level of restoration. This handsome Scout is not going to be cheap, even though it may sound like it. This Scout is priced at $229,000.
