Tamas Laczko, from Bekescsaba in Hungary, created the IoCamper. The IoCamper is a foldable, full-sized apartment that can fit in any van. It can be used with a Volkswagen Crafter and a Mercedes Sprinter without the need to convert the vehicle into a motorhome. The standard dimensions are 2.5 x 1.5 x1.7 meters (8.2×4.3×5.6 feet), but it can be modified to fit your needs.
The operation and assembly of IoCamper is very simple. Simply fold it and place it in the cargo van. You can easily assemble it using your smartphone, tablet, laptop or mobile phone. The IoCamper can be assembled in five to ten minutes depending on your specifications. It is possible to request that the IoCamper be done manually.
The IoCamper’s versatility is what makes it so unique. The IoCamper offers everything you need, including air-conditioning, a functioning kitchen, and a 23-inch infotainment screen. The IoCamper can supply power through solar panels. It also has the option of connecting to local electricity and water. You can even use the IoCamper for a separate apartment in your backyard or as a guesthouse if you require one.
The IoCamper has launched its Indiegogo campaign. It needs your support before it can go into full production. It’s a Hungarian product, but it will be available in many European countries as well as some US cities, including New York, Philadelphia and Chicago.
Although the IoCamper is very handy, there’s one problem. If you use the van to transport the IoCamper where will the passengers go? That’s right. You will need another vehicle.
