All things Raptor

The 2020 Ford Escape (or Kuga in other markets) has been released and people are already thinking of all kinds of derivatives that could be made from the compact crossover. The fourth generation of the Ford Escape looks more car-like than ever. It has been digitally imagined with an ST personality. But would it work as a Raptor too? X–Tomi Designwanted the possibility of a rugged, high performance variant. So they fired up Photoshop and created a hypothetical Escape Raptor. Ford already confirmed that an off-road version is in the works for the new Escape. The Blue Oval also stated that we will see the new Escape in six months. It will have a smaller shape, a wider track, a higher ground clearance and a taller windshield. This could allow us to see the future Escape. It would be impossible to answer that question, as the model Ford was referring to is the baby Bronco. We can  still imagine an Escape Raptor joining the F150 Raptor, and the Ranger Raptor coming to the United States soon. It would be a subcompact crossover that Ford sells in Brazil, with a raised suspension and chunky off-road tires.

The Escape Raptor will receive the turbocharged EcoBoost engine of the new Focus ST. This forbidden fruit produces 276 horsepower and 315 pound-feet (420 Nm) of torque. It is available in Europe as a wagon and hatchback, and also as a 2.0-liter diesel that makes 187 hp (400 Nm). The better low-rpm torque might make a diesel more sensible. This would be similar to the Range Raptor, which is also a diesel and packs a twin-turbo 2.0 liter delivering 210 horsepower and 369lb-ft (369 Nm).
