Now you are ready to explore the RV world. You might think that sticker shock is a bad thing, but renting an RV used for rent can be a great option. Five2Go, a YouTube user, asked this question recently when he visited a Cruise America location near Denver to see what a used motorhome rental might look like. While most auto enthusiasts know the dangers and potential problems of renting a car, this clip shows that former rental RVs might actually be more than buying a secondhand RV from someone private.

Cruise America seems to have a lot of upgrades for its motorhome fleet. This is a good thing considering the heavy use they are subject to. You can see everything, including a heavy-duty grab handle at your entrance, extra floor lights, commercial grade fabric for the furniture and stainless steel hardware in your kitchen and bathroom. This Ford-based unit has no carpet, which should allow for easy cleaning. Another advantage is the lack of an external ladder to prevent renters from climbing up on the roof. The bedroom is not accessible from the front of the cab. It can be damaged easily on the road. This RV has many access panels that can be used to reach places that would otherwise need extensive disassembly. This is a huge plus.

After speaking with RV rental companies and sales representatives, we discovered that these machines are more likely to fail if they are not used often. A lack of regular use can lead to seal failure, component damage, and even the possibility of components drying up. The video shows that Cruise America has a strict maintenance program. This is a must if you don’t want angry families demanding a refund for a broken down RV. The Cruise America units are painted and accented with new vinyl when they go on sale. While we can’t guarantee that all motorhomes are available for rent, it is a good idea to inspect them thoroughly before making any major purchases. The video gives us a different view of used RV rentals. However, the cost of the big 28-footer in this video is around $30,000 so it’s definitely much less than buying new.
