Is the All-New Ford Ranger as Good as a Lightning?

Anyone want to be a Baby F-150 Lightning?

Ford just unveiled the all new Ranger for international markets a few days back. Although Ford has not yet released all details about the model, we do know the engine options for the mid-size truck. The 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel with single turbocharger, twin-turbo EcoBlue diesel and the familiar EcoBoost will all be available on widespread release.

The Ranger will receive a hybrid at a later date in its product cycle. It has been reported that the new model was actually designed with future-proof electric drive systems. It should make a great complement to the Maverick Hybrid.

It raises another question, if electrification is considered. Ford will make an all-electric version the mid-size truck. The F-150 Lightning is a good example of how a major manufacturer can use an EV to haul heavy loads. The automaker hasn’t yet provided an answer, but creative minds are working to create a Lightning version for Ranger.

This render comes from SRK Designs. Their Youtube channel is also a regular visitor to this site. This channel has rendered many vehicles, from SUVs to sports cars. What kind of Photoshop magic did SRK Designs use for the Ranger Lightning, which is still unconfirmed?

The front end of the EV was smoothed, as well as a few other covered parts. SRK Designs even took the time to modify the wheels, which are inspired by the F-150 Lightning. The fender now has a charging port and the ride height has been reduced for the virtual Ranger. It also gets a light blue paint job that is similar to the tone of the battery-powered F-150.

This is an unofficial version the Ranger Lightning. Although the list of changes may seem small, it takes a lot to electrify the Ranger. It doesn’t look too different from other Ranger designs. Ford must build the actual model. It will all depend on Ford, but it is an interesting case study.
