This is the real deal.

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500R was first photographed by a YouTuber. It looks aggressive with its voluminous hood and wide front end. However, we can’t get too excited as the Sang It Up video description says that the images “aren’t 100% authentic” and the image is “from a Ford advertisement.”

The GT500R has wider front fenders that the GT500R. Instead of extending the front fascia the designers created two huge intakes that would likely direct the air to the brakes. A leaked image of the GT500R standard GT500_ shows the muscle car in action during a presentation. The GT500R photo was not as aggressive, as it didn’t have the GT500R’s larger fenders or inlets at its rear.

Rumours suggest that the GT500’s regular GT500 uses a 5.2-liter supercharged engine V8 with 700 horsepower (522 kilowatts), 720hp (537.kW), and possibly as high as 750 horses (559 kW). It is said to run through Ford GT’s dual clutch gearbox. Ford engineers might be able to crank up the boost with the GT500R’s large intakes.

In January, the North American International Auto Show will host the GT500. It is possible that the GT500R will also be present.
