J.D. regularly ranks cars. We’re used to seeing J.D. Power rankings every year, especially with their Initial Quality Study which determines which cars have the fewest problems within the first few months.
Let’s take a look at the US rankings for seat quality and satisfaction. The J.D. The J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Seat Quality and Satisfaction Study surveyed 110,827 purchasers and lessees of new 2021 model year vehicles. It was conducted from February 2021 through July 2021.
The number of incidents per 100 vehicles (PP100) was used to measure the quality of the seat. The higher the number, the more quality.
The Hyundai Elantra is the highest-ranking Mass Market Compact Car with only 5.7 points. The Honda Civic and Volkswagen Golf are second and third in the same category.
The Honda Clarity is currently ranked first in the Mass Market Midsize/Large Car Category with 5.3 points. The Dodge Charger, Nissan Maxima and Nissan Maxima are close behind.
The Mass Market Compact SUV leader is the Nissan Rogue, followed by Ford Mustang Mach-E, Honda CR-V, and Honda CR-V.
J.D. Power Studies You Need To See:
The Chevrolet Blazer and Hyundai Palisade were also praised as the best mass-market SUVs.
The Ram 1500 is the leader in the Mass Market Truck/Van category, followed closely by the Ford F-150 and the GMC Sierra at third.
The Porsche 718 is the top-selling premium brand in the Car segment, while the Lexus UX is the best-selling SUV. The Lexus RC, Genesis G90 and Lexus UX complete the list of Premium Cars. Meanwhile, the Lexus LX (and BMW X4) are the best three Premium SUVs.
