The US has now made it possible to order the unit at a starting price $110,000.
Jaguar will present the 1988 Le Mans winner XJR-9 during this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 8, 12). Jaguar will also be accompanied by a special guest. The new F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 will be next to the race car. It was designed to celebrate the British automaker’s victory in the most difficult motorsport event, 34 years ago. This SUV will be limited in production and is inspired by the brand’s racing successes.
Midnight Amethys Gloss paintwork, inspired by the 1988 Le Mans edition’s race car, is the highlight of exterior modifications. For the 22-inch forged aluminum wheels, it is combined with Champagne Gold Satin finish (also from the XJR-9). Sunset Gold Sating, a different color of gold, covers the body emblems, but is more prominent on the inside, where it’s used on the steering wheel, steering-wheel-mounted gear shifters and seats.
The Edition 1988 limited edition model’s exterior color and laser-etched Edition 1988 logo are exclusive. Gloss black is used as a contrast with the gold trim on the door mirror caps and brake calipers, wheel centers caps, and R logo on SVR badging. The cabin has naked carbon fiber and ebony leather upholstery for seats, dashboard, steering wheel, shift, and gears. Jaguar’s SV Bespoke division is responsible for all these modifications.
The firm’s supercharged V8 gasoline engine, 5.0-iter, is unchanged. Power continues to be supplied by that engine. The mill produces 550 horsepower (410 Kilowatts) as well as 516 pound-feet (706 Newton-meters) ( , up from 502 Lb/660 Nm in the previous model year). It is coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission of the torque converter type. This performance SUV can reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.8 seconds. It also has a top speed at 178 mph (286 Kph).
Jaguar plans to build just 394 F-Pace SVR Edition88s – one per lap by the Le Mans-winning Jaguar. The F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 will retail for $110,000, excluding $1.150 delivery and destination taxes. Jaguar dealers worldwide are now able to order the limited-edition performance SUV.
