The appearance package includes a black roof, special wheels, and checkered flag badges.
Jaguar injects a little more excitement into its F1_, at least in terms of appearance. Today, the automaker unveiled a Checkered Flag Limited Edition model that adds some flair to both convertible and coupe models. This package celebrates Jaguar’s heritage of sports cars, beginning with the XK 120 from 1948.
For coupe models, the exterior changes start with a contrasting dark roof. The optional Exterior Black Design Pack, which adds extra side sills to your exterior, is also included in the Checkered Flag Limited Edition standard kit. This special model rides on 20-inch wheels, which are also decorated with black trim.
The Checkered Flag Limited Edition interior features a Windsor Leather interior with brushed aluminum trim at the center console, and checkered flag-embellished headrests. The contract stitching used for the ebony seat is available in red or cirrus. As a reminder to drivers that this F-Type is not a regular F-Type, the steering wheel has a subtle checkered flag logo and a red leather strip to indicate the wheel’s straight-up location. Because it’s a race car.
The rest of this car is F-Type standard, but the Checkered Flag model uses the F-Type R Dynamic variant. You can choose from either the turbocharged rear-wheel-drive four-pot that produces 296 horsepower (221 Kilowatts) or the supercharged, 380-hp (283kW) engine to all four wheels. The only option for shifting is the eight-speed gearbox.
Ian Callum, Jaguar’s director for design, stated that “Perfect proportions and design purity, visual drama and design purity – every Jaguar must exhibit these qualities and no more than F-Type,” “In creating the Checkered Flag Limited Edition, we have focused on details that enhance the F-Type’s presence and promise of performance. This is a fitting tribute to 70 years of Jaguar sports cars.
Jaguar has not yet revealed how many Checkered Flag Limited Edition Jaguars it will make, but the U.S. pricing starts at $71,900.
