Jaguar Land Rover promises to fix reliability problems

This is now the top priority of the company.

Jaguar Land Rover began a rebuilding process after the arrival of Thierry Bollore in autumn. Tata’s automaker wants to create, produce and sell premium products ( mostly), that are electric, efficient, luxurious, reliable, and comfortable. Although the company is making progress towards this goal, there are still many issues to resolve.

Bollore has previously acknowledged in interviews that JLR can have reliability issues – something that almost everyone in the industry is well aware of. A recent chat with Bollore was Autocar The firm’s new CEO stated that the company has made significant progress in improving its quality, but more work is needed. This is the top priority of the company’s Reimagine program.

Bollore explained that this is the first pillar in Reimagine, the British transformation plan. Our results were unacceptable, but we know what to do. It’s not science. It’s hard work. Although the 2021 results have been better than expected, there is still much to be done.

Already there are positive signs of the changes taking place behind the scenes. Bollore claims that the warranty costs for 2021 model-year cars has dropped by one third compared to previous year. Jaguar Land Rover has an additional member of its board that is responsible for customer satisfaction, reporting directly to the CEO. JLR is also “improving processes in order to improve quality by design.”

Recent surveys on both sides of the big lake show Jaguar Land Rover is one of the worst performing automakers in terms reliability and quality. Bollore stated in March that Jaguar Land Rover is losing around 100,000 sales per year because of its poor global image.
