Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Roadster Gets Smooth Shape in GT7
The Jaguar D-Type racecar from the 1950s, the Jaguar D-Type roadster, is reinvented futuristically in the Roadster.

Jaguar unveils the Vision Gran Turismo Roadster to coincide with the Gran Turismo7 launch. This is the third installment in Jaguar’s series on virtual concepts.

The Vision Gran Turismo Roadster’s smooth design evokes the look and feel of the Jaguar D-Type racecar from the 1950s. The retro look is enhanced by the addition of light rings at the front. The vehicle looks a little more futuristic with the angular light strips at the corners.

With a wraparound windshield, there is only one seat. Another nod to D-Type is the fin in the cockpit. This vertical element features LED illumination and an etched Union Jack.

Three electric motors provide all-wheel drive according to the specs of the Vision Gran Turismo Roadster. The total horsepower of the setup is 1,006 (750 kilowatts), and 885 pound feet (1,200 Newton meters). In less than two seconds, it can reach 60 miles an hour (96 km per hour) at 60 mph. It can reach speeds of over 200 mph (322 km/h).

It is now possible to drive the Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo SV endurance racing car in the game, after it was first introduced in December 2020. The Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo SV endurance racer is the brand’s dream car with a massive front splitter, and a massive wing.

The total powertrain’s four motors produce 1,877 horsepower (1,400kW). The SV can reach 60 mph (96 kph), in just 1.65 seconds. It can also hit a top speed at 255 mph (405 kph).

The Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Coupe was the first of these British automobilemakers to produce one of these vehicles. The car debuted in October 2019. It was initially designed for the Gran Turismo Sport game. The machine can also be driven in Gran Turismo7.

The game uses three electric motors to power the coupe, totalling 1,006 horsepower (750 kW) & 885 lbft (1.200 Nm). The car can reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in under 2 seconds, and the top speed is more than 200 mph (322 km/h). Jag doesn’t sound like an electric vehicle, but rather than sounding like one, Jag uses the note of the D-Type Long Nose’s 3.8-liter inline-6 to give the powertrain its distinctive sound.
