Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo SV Is A 255-MPH Virtual Racer With 1,877 HP

Gran Turismo is the only vehicle that has the quad-motor electric motor, but Jaguar has made a full-size model.

Jaguar joined the Vision Gran Turismo virtual race car league in October 2019. Now they are back with a hardercore version. The Lamborghini-esque “SV” suffix has been added to the virtual racer, which will be available in a PlayStation near you starting in 2021. It features a stunning blend of futuristic and classic lines.

Jaguar claims its electric hypercar is low-slung and has C-Type. D-Type XJR-9, XJR-14 and XJR-14 design cues are all rolled into one. However, the avant-garde twist is to make it fit a future race car. The Vision Gran Turismo SV was created entirely in the virtual universe using technology from Formula E. It was then refined using the most recent simulation tools. These are some amazing numbers. The four electric motors produce 1,877 horsepower (1.400 kilowatts) combined and 3,360 Newton-meters (2.478 pound-feet of instant torque). Jaguar calculated the numbers and was able to achieve a 0-60 mph (96 km/h), time of 1.65 seconds, with a maximum speed reaching 255 mph (405 km/h).

These renderings may not accurately reflect the car’s actual size. The Vision Gran Turismo SSV measures 5.54 meters (218.8 inches), which is 861mm (33.9 inches) more than the virtual concept. At 2.72 meters (107 in), the significant stretch has not affected the wheelbase which has been carried forward.

The hotter variant has a new front splitter and deployable back wing that lower drag coefficient to 0.398. This is quite impressive for a race car. When the zero-emissions virtual car is traveling at 200 mph (322 km/h), the aero upgrades add 483 kilograms to downforce.

Jaguar’s design team created a full-size model of the all-wheel-drive EV racing car with a low roofline. It is unlikely that it will ever be produced, as it was designed to appear in the Polyphony Digital video game. It will be revealed in GT Sport and/or the GT7.
