The Jaguar XF still has life in the US

In the US, the Jaguar sedan is rapidly becoming endangered. The flagship XJ sedan has been retired and its replacement was cancelled. The XE compact executive sedan was also discontinued by the British automaker around a year ago. The Jaguar mid-level XF is the last Jaguar sedan left in the US.

Jaguar might just abandon sedans in the US, as you would think. Crossovers have been the most profitable vehicles for almost every automaker. Jaguar continues to be loyal to the XF, despite all this. According to Jaguar, there is strong demand for the executive sedan-sized size.

Jaguar claims that the XF has a waiting list of 90 days. Jaguar also stated that customers are willing to wait for quite a while. One could argue that the XF’s success is due to the fact that its stablemates were discontinued. Jaguar’s recent repositioning may have also played a role in the XF’s success.

Jaguar decided to upgrade the equipment levels for the XF after the XE was discontinued and the XJ was retired. The US-spec XF lineup is no longer available with a six cylinder. The XF uses a turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine in all models. This engine has two power options.

The P250 is the first and produces 247 horsepower (184 Kilowatts) as well as 269 pound feet (365 Newton-meters). The P300, which has 296 horsepower (221 Kilowatts) and 295 pounds-feet (405 Newton-meters) of torque, is for those who prefer a turbo-powered 2.0-liter engine.

The latest facelift also included a number of updates that increased its value proposition. The XF now has a base price at $45,300 (P250). The BMW 530i is priced at $54,200 and the Mercedes-Benz E350 starts at $54,950. Jaguar showrooms are attracted to by the $9,000 savings compared to German competitors.

The Jaguar XF is a classic model in its class. It has been around since 2015. It seems that the brand has attracted the right amount of attention by pricing it as a compact executive sedan. Jaguar did not mention any plans for the XF, or even a possibility of a replacement. Jaguar wants to prove that there’s still life in this cat.
