Jaguar has finally revealed the XFL, which Jaguar teased earlier in the month. It is a long-wheelbase XF.
The XFL is Jaguar’s exclusive Chinese-market model. It was created for people who cannot afford the XJ but still want more legroom. The XFL will be unveiled today at the Beijing Auto Show, where another main competitor is also celebrating its debut, the stretched Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The XFL measures 5.5 inches longer than the standard model and offers an additional 6.1 inches (157 mm), of rear legroom. Additional 4.5 inches (116mm) of knee space will be available for those seated in the back.
Although the design of the car is the same as the standard-wheelbase XF model, the wheelbase was extended and the rear doors have been made longer. Jaguar designed the XFL for chauffeur-driven customers. The focus was on the rear, where eight-inch screens are integrated in the headrests of the front-seat seats.
China’s XFL features Jaguar’s 10.2-inch InControl Touch Pro infotainment systems. This system works in conjunction with a 17-speaker Meridian Surround Sound System, which is 825-watts. The attached images demonstrate that rear passengers have lots of buttons, as well as 2x HDMI ports and 2x USB 3.0 ports. There is also a 12V power socket.
Four-way lumber adjustment is available on the heated rear and cooled rear seats. They also include massaging functions. Air-cleaning ionization, window blinds and folding tables are available for passengers.
Jaguar exclusively sells the XFL with an all-wheel drive system and an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. The stretched version will weigh in at 441 pounds (200 kg) more than the standard model. It will come with a turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine that produces 197 horsepower and 236 horsepower. For those who need more power, the 335-hp supercharged 3.0-liter V6 will be available.
It is worth mentioning that the XFL will be the first China-specific Jaguar Land Rover product and will be built in Changshu, where Discovery Sport and Evoque are made.
