Jaguar XJ Collection Ends Big Sedan’s Ninth Lives

This trim will be worn by the final 300 units of XJ production.

The Jaguar XJ cat is in its ninth year. This is evident by the fact that the British brand that makes it has announced a limited-edition version of its current sedan .

The Jaguar XJ Collection is a full-size sedan that will be the last 300 XJs to be produced. It will only be available in the United States. It will be a rear-drive, long wheelbase vehicle with a supercharged V8. The XJL is a great template for a special edition vehicle like this. It offers customers plenty of power and luxury with a beautiful body.

With unique satin gray, 20 inch wheels, “Collection” badges, and only three color options, the Collection elevates that attractiveness to new heights. British Racing Green with a black and tan interior is the only option. This classic combination doesn’t exist in British cars. Jaguar will offer the Collection in Yulong White, Santorini black with black or ivory interior upholstery.

This cabin houses a wood-and leather steering wheel and a wood trim exclusive to the XJ Collection. Jaguar has added an “XJ Collection One Of 300” intaglio (it is like an engraving) to the leather dash of that wood so you can feel extra special behind the wheel. The interior features are completed with collection-specific metal tread plates.

These changes aside, it is still a pleasant and elegant luxury sedan. An eight-speed automatic transmission transfers 470 horsepower to the rear wheels via the V8 engine. It’s all good and well. Equipment includes a touchscreen with Jaguar’s InControl Touch Pro infotainment software and a Meridian sound system. There are also other features found on the XJL models. The XJ Collection starts at $85,000
