Jaguar XK rendering brings back the sports coupe from the dead

This coupe is based on the F-Type but it’s a 2+2 coupe.

It’s been a while since Jaguar took the XK sports coupe down. This long-running marque was introduced in Geneva in 1996 and has been around for nearly 20 years. Ian Callum was the one who created the latest version of this nameplate. He was also responsible for the design revolution in the British marque’s lineup.

A report two years ago claimed that Jaguar would bring back the XK coupe in a four-seater Jaguar F Type. This is supposedly due by 2021. The new F-Type platform will be used, but there will be space at the rear to accommodate a 2+2 configuration.

Jaguar remains mum on a possible return to the Jaguar XK, even though the new F-Type was unveiled towards the end last year. Our friend Nicolas Cavero (also known as Futurecarsnow on Instagram ) has reimagined the third-generation Jaguar XK.Cavero used 2018’s F-Type styling to create a rendering of what he believed the new-generation XK should look like. This rendering has a much better profile than the Callum’s previous XK. It features a low-slung nose and thin headlights. The body is slightly longer than the F-Type’s in order to fit the rear seats. This rendering reminds us a bit of Aston Martin vehicles.

Jaguar has not yet revealed any information about the return Jaguar’s XK. However, you can expect important details about this sports coupe based upon the new F-Type.

Jaguar should offer three engine options, including the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and the 3.0-liter supercharged six-cylinder from the previous generation as well as the modified 5.0L supercharged 8-cylinder engine. This massive mill can produce 444 horsepower (331 Kilowatts) as well as 428 pound-feet (580 Newton meters) of torque. It is available with either rear- or all wheel drive.

We’ll be keeping an eye on the ground for any new developments regarding the XK.
