Japan launches the Subaru Impreza WRX STI spec B in 2011

Subaru WRX STI Spec C features a lighter Subaru WRX STI Spec C with an upgraded suspension and improved engine output.

Subaru has revealed the Impreza WRX STI spec B for Japan.

This Spec C version brings the model up-to-speed with the facelifted WRX, which was unveiled earlier this year at New York’s auto show.

The WRX Spec C was given a fine tune, including an ECU remap as well as new ball bearings for the twin-scroll turbocharger. This results in new output figures of 308 PS (227kW /304 bhp), and 430 Nm (317lb-ft), on the turbo 2.0 liter unit.

The WRX STI Spec C receives a driveline upgrade to a mechanical rear limited slip differential (photo 12), and the front chassis is reinforced with a new crossmember (photo 13).

Subaru saves weight on the Spec C by using an aluminum bonnet and smaller battery. Also, 18-inch light alloy wheels are wrapped in Bridgestone POTENZARE070 tires in 245/40R18 sizes. Standard are Brembo brake calipers in gold.
