Jay Leno Associates: A Ferrari Dealer with Rich Guys Going to A Dominatrix

He doesn’t have a single Ferrari despite being a big fan.

Ferrari has just broken a new record for sales by delivering 11155 cars in 2021. This is before it added the Purosangue SUV. It means that cars with the Prancing Horse are becoming more common, but there is still a lot of love for the Maranello brand. Jay Leon, comedian and car enthusiast, speaks highly of Prancing Horse cars. He doesn’t own one of his many Prancing Horses. Why is that?

The 71-year old American TV host shared his dislike of dealing with Ferrari dealers during a podcast interview with Jason Stein. He associates going to a Ferrari showroom with “rich men going to a dominatrix.” It was amazing. Oh, it was great. It’s amazing to see guys like that. “I don’t.”

He was honest about how he felt about buying a Ferrari. I don’t want two Mondials. This is funny, considering that the 2+2 grand tourer was retired nearly 30 years ago.

Jay Leno was referring to how Ferrari selects who gets a car. Customers must fulfill certain criteria in order to be eligible for the most exclusive models. This includes having a minimum of three previous models. This is a real first-world problem, which shows that money doesn’t always buy everything. It is difficult to purchase a limited-run, top-tier model, even for those with sufficient funds. This can be seen by browsing the FerrariChatforums.

The former host of The Tonight Show was positive about purchasing a McLaren. During what he described as a “terrific” process, he didn’t spend a cent more than the MP4-12C sticker price. He was also offered a free power boost by the British automaker.

But he does love cars:

He wanted to upgrade to carbon fiber brakes but the dealer told him to not. Jay Leno was told by McLaren that the set was not suitable for owners who regularly take their supercars to track.

He also thanked Porsche for delivering his Carrera GT to him using a flatbed. Two Zuffenhausen mechanics also came to his shop and taught him how to lift the V10 machine. Jay Leno said that he felt like a customer during the whole process. He also received some “freebies”, such as a pencil set and a book.

Jay Leno doesn’t have anything against Ferraris, just so we are clear. Jay Leno thinks they are great cars but he finds it too difficult to buy a new one.
