Jay quickly glances at Bucky’s STI’s exterior and immediately sees the differences between it and a bone stock car. Leno immediately notices the carbon-fiber side mirrors, modified factory aluminum hood with air vents. The skid plates, baffled oils pan and Gurney flaps beneath to protect gravel are not visible.

According to the Bucky, the 2.5 liter turbocharged four cylinder boxer engine remains intact internally. However, Precision has replaced the stock turbo with a larger unit. Perrin’s front-mount intercooler, along with the upgraded hoses, was also replaced by the OEM top-mount. The power modifications were completed with a Cobb Tuning exhaust system and a Tomei pipe. Bucky’s STI produces just over 400 horsepower at all four wheels after AntSpec tuning. This is a substantial increase from the stock unit which produces only 305 ponies per crank.

Jay quickly dissects the rally-inspired daily driver and jumps in, almost leaving Bucky behind. Jay quickly gets to know the car and is happy when the boost kicks in at 3,500 rpm. The STI provides the driver with enjoyment and comfort without sacrificing the ability to drive every day. Los Angeles driving is easy thanks to the stocky ride height. A rally car for everyday use.
