Jay Leno’s Garage Shows Captain America’s Classic Camaro Great!

This muscle car is all star power.

Iron Man must have felt awful about the fight between him and Captain America a few years back, as he gifted him this amazing Camaro with the cap shield on it. Here’s the translation for those unfamiliar with the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. purchased this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro and then gave the keys to SpeedKore. SpeedKore is a tuning company that has a history of building some amazing rides. The car was given to Chris Evans, Captain America, as a gift during the filming of the third Avengers movie. This film takes place chronologically following Captain America, where Iron Man and Captain America defeated each other.

After that little bit of explanation, let’s get back to the car. It’s amazing. It made a brief appearance at Jay Leno’s Garage. SpeedKore Vice President David Salvaggio was the chaperone, replacing Chris Evans, The Captain. Salvaggio knows all about this very clean build. He jokes that melted Army Man Green is the exterior color. You can also see subtle changes in the body to enhance the car’s sensuous lines. The interior is one of the most beautiful Camaro’s we have ever seen. We’ll give Downey Jr. credit for his creative input in choosing the colors and patterns.

Superheroes require plenty of power so the Camaro has a supercharged LS3 engine that produces 730 horsepower (544 kilowatts) and is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Salvaggio mentions that the car isn’t too built and is very reliable. We can’t comment on this, but we love the car in every way. It’s very clean, even under the hood. The car could be a little too shy or shaded. This could be due to the dim lighting used in the garage segments. It looks fantastic on the road and we’re sure it would look even more great in our garage. However, we don’t intend to try and fight Captain America.

It certainly looks like a car that would be suited for an all-American hero.
