Jeep Compass-Based 7 Seater Spotted Testing Near The Arctic

According to reports, it will be called different names depending upon the market.

The prototype of a Jeep Compass seven-seater was spotted by our spy photographers near the Arctic Circle. The updated design of the new model has been kept secret by its swirly camouflage.

A seven-seat Jeep Compass prototype has been out of production for almost one year. We are back with another view of the prototype of the new Jeep Compass.

A 2022 Jeep Commander was introduced to Brazil’s market in August. This is one of many developments that has occurred since March 2021. The seven-seat crossover is based upon the Compass, which was most likely the unretouched prototype that our spy photographers spotted.

The design elements on the prototype match those in the Commander production model (see the gallery at bottom of this story). They all match the design elements, including the DRLs on the front bumper and taillight graphics. We can expect design variations depending on market.

The seven-seat Compass, now called the Commander for Latin America is reportedly sold in India under the Jeep Meridian. The model codenamed H6 has been seen in Asia several times. It is expected to debut this year.

Brazil offers a variety of powertrain options, including a 1.3-liter TurboFlex turbocharged gasoline engine T270 that produces 182 horsepower (136kilowatts) as well as 199 poundfeet (227 Newton-meters). This is mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Another option is the 2.0-liter TD380 turbodiesel, which produces 168 hp (12.5 kW) and 280 lb (380 Nm) respectively. It’s sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed slushbox.

We will see if the seven-seat Compass is the same for other markets outside Brazil. We won’t be surprised, however, if they are.
