Jeep has been busy launching the refreshed Cherokee and preparing Renegade for a facelift. also revealed the Grand Commander in China. However, this hasn’t stopped the automaker adding a special edition to its European line-up. The Grand Cherokee S is now available for order in many markets across the Old continent.
The range-topping edition is visually different from regular models. It features 20-inch wheels, blackened lower grilles and upper grilles on the front bumper, tinted glass with black chrome surround and dual exhausts with black Chrome finish. Inside the cabin, we see black wood finishes as well as accent stitching on the instrument panels.
Standard equipment includes more features than ever before, including sports suspension, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto compatible infotainment systems with an 8.4 inch screen, 506-watt Alpine premium audio system by Alpine with standard active sound cancellation, a panoramic double-pane sunroof and leather covered steering wheel. Dual zone climate control is also available. The list of standard safety systems is extensive – blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning with adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning and lane departure warning.
The new Grand Cherokee S comes in 10 exterior colors. It also has three engines. A 3.0-liter diesel engine with 250 horsepower (186kilowatts) is the entry-level model. Next, a 3.6-liter gasoline V6 with 286hp (213kW) is available. The range-topper is a 5.7-liter HEMI-V8 with 352 horsepower (262 kW). All motors are mated to an exclusive eight-speed automatic transmission. The Quadra-Drive II all-wheel-drive system has a rear electronic limited-slip differential and channeled power to all four wheels. It can also operate under five.
