Last year’s electric Wrangler was introduced. However, this model has Magneto 20 written on the hood.
After a modest appearance in 2021 it seems Jeep will bring a legit truckload full of concepts to the 2022 Easter Jeep Safari event at Moab. We now have the “Trail Marker 6”, a teaser of the seventh Jeep concept, with just a week to go before the event. However, this teaser is not an entirely new creation.
We believe it’s not all-new. The Jeep Wrangler Magneto was unveiled last year as an all-electric offroader. It is based on the two-door Rubicon. The new teaser clearly shows magneto with a white hood. This is the same as before. We now have the number 20, and Jeep says in a short paragraph that the teaser pushes “the limits of legendary Jeep 4×4 capabilities and off-road development further.” There’s clearly something more going on here. It is unclear if we are dealing with a modified version last year’s Magneto concept or another Magneto EV.
Here is where the plot thickens. The number 20 has also been seen before, but very recently. A teaser for the 2022 Easter Jeep Safari showed the hood and 20 text. We believe that the Rubicon trim will be 20 years old next year, so the concept could show a model with a 20th-anniversary design. The new Magneto 20 could also be a preview of a 20th anniversary trim, which might go into production in the 2023 model year. It could be a clever PR move to announce such an announcement at Moab, where off-road enthusiasts can see it in action.
The Magneto 20 (whatever that is) will be surrounded with a multitude of combustion-powered Jeeps. The teaser campaign began with a adorned Gladiator and a Grand Cherokee hybrid. The teaser images are now coming one at a while and Wranglers have been the main focus. Apart from the 20th anniversary Rubicon we have seen two interesting Wrangler/ Gladiator mashups and a Wrangler 4xe with military themes. Literally, a day before the Magneto teaser, another Wrangler was seen in four-door form and sporting a multitude of custom parts.
April 9th marks the start of the 2022 Easter Jeep Safari. There’s still plenty of time to see more teasers.
