While street legal in Europe, the Wrangler Rubicon is customized with useful upgrades such as a suspension lift of two inches (50.8 millimeters), snorkel air intake and rock rails for tough terrain. The Wrangler’s exterior paint Hella Yella is complemented with black accents to dress it up. These pieces include a matte-black grille and black parts for door handles, door sills. Fuel door, mirror caps, and even mudguards. The mesh sunbonnet top is on the roof. The 1941 date is engraved on the doors and hood.

The European version of the Wrangler JL is now available. Buyers have the option to purchase a 2.2-liter turbodiesel four cylindermaking 200 horsepower (149 Kilowatts) as well as 332 pound-feet torque (450 Newton meters). You can hook it up to an eight-speed or six-speed manual transmission. Customers in Europe can also choose the turbocharged, gas-fueled four-cylinder of 2.0-liters. The 3.6-liter V6 is limited to markets in Africa or the Middle East.

Off-road equipment for the diesel-powered Wrangler is slightly different from that of the gas-powered models. The two-speed Command-Trac tech used on the Sport and Sahara trims uses 3.73-ratio axles instead of 3.45. Optional rear differential with limited slip is available. The Rubicon comes with the Rock-Trac two-speed system with Dana 44 axles and electronic sway bar disconnection. It also has electric-looking differentials at both the front and back. Instead of the 4.10 ratio used by Rubicons with the gasoline-powered engine, it uses a 3.73 gear ratio.

According to order forms, a diesel-powered Wrangler will be coming to America. However, it would feature a 3.0-liter V6 engine with stop-start technology. It is not clear what the output will be, but it could be around 260 horsepower (194 kW), and 442 lbft (599 Nm), of torque from a diesel-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee.
