Jeep Wrangler Scrambler Pickup Captured On The Highway

In about a year, it will be available in showrooms.

The sales of cars continue to be impacted by crossovers, SUVs and trucks. This trend will not slow down in the next years so a new pickup truck built on the latest Jeep Wrangler model should be a good choice. The more utilitarian version, rumored to be called “Scrambler”, was captured by an Allpar reader. It was covered in camouflage but it wasn’t difficult to see what it was hiding under.

The Wrangler pickup truck will be available in the double-cab body style. It will also carry the regular model’s styling and all the oily bits. The Pentastar V6 3.6-liter engine will likely have 285 horsepower. An optional turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0 liter engine will produce 270 horsepower. These two engines could be combined with a turbodiesel 3.0-liter engine V6 or a plug-in hybrid. Both the diesel and electrified powertrains have been confirmed for JL. This means that there is a good chance that the pickup (JT), will also benefit from the extended engine lineup.

The Wrangler “Scrambler”, which is expected to arrive at US dealerships in April 2019, will be built at the Jeep retooled Toledo plant in Ohio.

The official debut of the model could be held at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. It’s been a long wait for the Wrangler pickup truck. Sergio Marchionne, Fiat Chrysler CEO, announced it in early 2016. FCA’s chief honcho stated that he expected to sell less than 100,000 units annually at the Detroit show. He also said it would be expensive – deliberately so.
