The kit includes a suspension lift for off-road enthusiasts.
After a series cryptic teasers Jeep finally revealed a Wrangler hardcore version for off-road enthusiasts. Ford’s reborn Bronco is finally being delivered to customers. The optional Xtreme Recon Package increases the 4×4’s capabilities with 35-inch tires, straight from the factory. The rubber is a BF Goodrich KO2 All Terrain tire (LT315/70R17C). It also comes with a 1.5 inch suspension lift that allows for bespoke tuning of the shocks to fit the new tires. The Wrangler comes fitted with the Xtreme Recon Package and rides on 17×8 inch beadlock wheels. It also has a 4.56 to 1 axle ratio. Jeep claims that these upgrades were developed by listening to customers and observing what aftermarket modifications they use.
Jeep claims that the new kit has improved the Wrangler’s departure angles and approach, as well as ground clearance and water fording abilities. These numbers are compared to the four-door Bronco with Sasquatch Package. Jeep is currently taking orders for the Xtreme Recon Package. This package can only be purchased with the four-door Wrangler Rubicon or the V8-powered Rubicon392. Production will begin in August with the pricing to follow. The Chicago Auto Show will host the public debut on July 14. Auto shows are back!
The Wrangler Rubicon receives a new optional 4.88-1 axle ratio. When paired with the six speed manual gearbox, it gives the offroader a best in-class 100:1 crawl rate. The new axle ratio will be available for customers to order later in the year. The Wrangler’s new design will not be the only novelty at the Windy City. Jeep will also display the 2022 Compass which was first revealed in China in November 2020, before arriving in Europe just a few months ago. Last but not least, off-road enthusiasts who want chunkier tires that are factory-fitted will need to wait for Ford’s Bronco Raptor (previously called Warthog) which Ford has teased as having 37-inch rubber.
