He teases at an exciting end to a Grand Tour episode.
Jeremy Clarkson explains why he still loves the Lexus FFA while he is outside a London pub. He uses a very vulgar analogy to explain why, in the Clarkson style.
Clarkson states that the LFA is more family-friendly because of its “principally loud” sound. Clarkson continues to say that the V10 sound was “spine-tingling” and that electric cars don’t have that. Clarkson says the Lexus range-topping Lexus’ fuel tank is too small and has fiddly seatbelts. However, these are not detriments to the engine’s incredible power.
The LFA has a 4.8-liter V10 engine that produces 553 horsepower (412 Kilowatts) as well as 354 pound-feet (354 Newton-meters). The mill can revve at an impressive 9,000 rpm despite the large displacement. The engine was developed by Toyota and Yamaha together.
Lexus discontinued production of the LFA in 2012. However, the company was unable to find buyers for its 500-car production run. The company sold three additional examples in the United States in this calendar year , leaving four others in showrooms.
Clarkson also gives some intriguing information about the upcoming special The Grand Tour. He promises “because of our conditions we have one helluva ending.” Clarkson said that the accident result was due to the fact that the production team abandoned the original plan after four people were killed in dangerous conditions less than a mile from the filming location.
Clarkson may be referring to Clarkson’s plan to film a drive between Saudi Arabia and Cairo, Egypt. Clarkson’s Sunday Times column stated that the producers had previously had to cancel the trip due to “sporadic, vicious terrorist attacks.”
