John Cena Responds to Ford in Legal Spat over Selling His Ford GT

Cena’s lawyers are going to bring Cena’s hustle, loyalty and respect to the courtroom in order for them fight the case.

WWE wrestler John Cena won’t back down in a court battle against Ford over allegedly selling the new Ford GT prior to the 24-month ownership period. Cena’s legal team has asked the court for the dismissal of the case. The final contract didn’t contain a provision for the supercar’s two-year ownership. Motor Authority has obtained legal documents that indicate a possible more complex situation.

Cena had signed several contracts before purchasing the Ford GT. However, not all of these included the 24-month ownership clause. Motor Authority reports that Cena signed the document on January 28, 2017 to confirm the order for the supercar. Cena signed the final purchase contract on October 12, 2017, just before taking delivery. However, it didn’t contain the two-year restriction. Cena’s legal team used this document to support their request to dismiss the case. It’s not difficult to see how Ford’s lawyers could claim that the earlier agreement was a binding contract.

The judge will decide how to resolve the matter.

Motor Authority also obtained more information about Cena’s GT. It cost him $460,000, with $5,000 for the Liquid Blue exterior, $250 for a leather wrapped steering wheel, $3,750 for destination, and $250 for a leather-wrapped dashboard.

Although the filing did not mention the price Cena paid for the GT, he didn’t keep it very long. In November , news broke that Cena had taken delivery of the car. Ford had filed a lawsuit against him claiming breach of contract. He requested $500,000.

It is not yet clear what the outcome of this case will be. There is a possibility that both sides might reach a settlement outside of court. Cena might challenge Ford’s legal team in a steel cage match at Wrestlemania. We can tell you which one would be more entertaining.
