He is being sued by the DeLorean trademark holders.

An English man claims to be John DeLorean’s father and is making a bizarre conversion of three-wheeled Reliant Robins into gullwinged vehicles. These vehicles resemble the DeLorean DMC-12. To pre-order one of these strange machines, he’s asking for PS20,000 (current exchange rates: $27,251).

Ty DeLorean claims he is the son of John DeLorean. “I have to be careful about what I say, as I have people I need to protect,” he explained to the Daily Mail . My mother decided that no one should know.

Ty calls his car DMC21. According to his website, the car was originally designed in 1981. There is no evidence that DeLorean Motor Company ever planned to make a three-wheeled, Reliant-based vehicle.

An 850cc engine powers the vehicle. It produces 40 horsepower, provided that there have been no modifications to the original Reliant engine. According to the company, the DMC 21 can travel 100 miles an hour (161 km per hour). This speed is possible on three wheels, and the Robin’s notorious instability makes it seem terrifying.

The DMC 21’s body is not made of stainless steel like the DMC 12. It’s instead painted with a similar finish. The Robin’s remote-controlled, gullwing doors have a strange appearance. A new grille is added to the car that looks a lot like the one on DMC 12.

The DMC 21 interior features a fake Flux Capacitor, just like the car in Back to the Future. DMC branding is visible on the carpets, steering wheels, and gearshift knob.

The DMC 1.21 is also an electric version. This refers to the 1.21 gigawatts required for the DeLorean to travel through time in Back to the Future.

Ty is currently facing legal problems over DMC 21. DeLorean Motor Company owns a trademark for the term DeLorean, which the company is suing him for. He intends to fight the case.
