All things carbon fiber
Kahn Automobiles, based in the UK, has made many custom creations over the years. But this Mercedes-Benz G-Class is our favorite. The Mercedes-Benz G-Class Project Kahn Carbon Wide Track Edition is the official name. It will now be called the Carbon Wide Track or the crazy-custom G, depending on your preference.
High-end tuners have long paid attention to the G-Class. But what really grabs our attention is the odd roof spoiler found in Kahn’s body kit. It is called a roof spoiler by Kahn, but it actually looks like two roof scoops at each corner. The idea is based on wild rear wings made of two-pieces, as seen on hypercars such as the Ferrari FXX-K. However, even in G63 trim with 577 horsepower (430kilowatts), this G-Class box is not a hypercar or supercar.
Kahn adds a carbon hood overlay, a front spoiler, and a new grille for further enhancements to the SUV’s appearance. The roof shield over the windshield compliments the odd rear wings. Naturally, the SUV’s appearance is wider thanks to beefy flares at each corner. Kahn wheels of 23 inches with Continental tires are contained within those flares. Kahn is proud to highlight their partnership with Continental. An optional upgrade to the exhaust system is available, as well as an upgrade to the interior’s Bengal Red color.
Kahn’s Carbon Wide Track is a turn-key vehicle that is based on the G63 and priced at PS224,999. This amounts to $306,383 USD at current conversion rates. However, Kahn lists the package as an upgrade of PS40,000 ($54468) for any G-Class model.
